화담숲 Hwadam Forest (2024)

Hwadam Forest is an arboretum established and operated by the LG Evergreen Foundation as part of its public service initiatives. It received approval for its development in April 2006 and spans 165,265㎡ (approximately 50,000 pyeong) in Doeung-ri, Dochak-myeon, Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province.

The official opening took place in 2013, featuring 16 themed gardens and showcasing over 4,000 species of native and introduced plants.

More than just a viewing facility, it serves as a research site aimed at restoring endangered plant and animal species to their natural habitats, contributing to ecosystem restoration.

The LG Evergreen Foundation hopes that its commitment to the natural environment will also inspire a greener mindset in all of us.
